Even though I had one or two posts in September, I fell way behind where I wanted to be with my blogging, especially my style related posts.
Sometimes life gets too busy and something has to give for a while, but I truly missed the creative effort I put into the blog each month and I’m excited to get back at it. Likewise, about 10 days ago we took a long weekend trip to Chicago and to visit my sister in Indiana. I packed a perfect capsule wardrobe (which I’ll be including in an upcoming post) and had every intention of taking some great pics in them in the city, but with a packed schedule with a toddler, I ran out of time to shoot my outfits.
So now I’ll just shoot them at home!
I’ve been obsessed with the tweed and hounds tooth patterns all over the Instagram this fall.
I found this fantastic blazer from H&M for right around $50. The look is on point for fall, but the jacket isn’t too heavy like many with a similar look, so it’s a great option for ladies who don’t want a lot of bulk or who live in a warmer climate.
I paired the blazer with an ivory cami, classic cuffed jeans, and my black mules. I love a sexy heel, but I think it’s awesome that mules and other flats are trending right now so that I can be comfortable walking around the city all day on vacation (and chasing down Max!).
The clutch was a lucky find at Abercrombie a few weeks ago. The neutral colors make it a versatile piece, but the tribal print and beaded detailing are totally funky and fun. It’s also a steal on sale under $25 right now. I’m also totally crushing on these new sunnies from Quay Australia. They are super lightweight, great fit, and they were under $60.
