If you have been trying to eat healthy but can’t quite kick that sweet tooth, I’ve got the perfect treat for you to try. A healthy, green and delicious smoothie that takes just like a snickerdoodle cookie. Not kidding.
I discovered this recipe when I was at home on maternity leave and trying to shed my baby weight, and it was a favorite go to in the morning. The avocado helps to keep you full, and the initial boost of greens first thing in the morning is a great way to start the day.
These days, I usually triple the ingredients and make them for the whole family. This is a toddler favorite in our house too.
If it still seems too good to be true, just try it. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
(And yes, it is weird that it is green and tastes like a delicious cookie, but just go with it.)
Healthy Green Snickerdoodle Smoothie
(Single Serving)
-
½ Avocado
-
1 handful of Spinach (approximately ½ cup)
-
1 Banana (frozen)
-
¼ to ½ cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
-
½ tsp Vanilla
-
¼ tsp Cinnamon
Using sweetened vanilla flavor Almond Milk will help enhance the yummy taste, but it will boost calories as well. When I want a little extra sweetness, I add 1 packet of Truvia sweetener or a touch of Agave nectar.
