Vero in Yellow

My best friend from law school is a total sweetheart, and loves to go on trips with her momma from time to time (not gonna lie, I love to go on trips with my mom too, though its been a while) .  Last week they flew in from Michigan to South Florida for a week long vacation, and so I didn’t have to drive so far (told you she’s a sweetheart) she met me halfway.  I have always wanted to stay at the Costa d’ Este Resort and Spa in Vero Beach, so last weekend was the perfect reason.

The Costa d’ Este has a great art deco Miami vibe, which is totally fitting because the resort is owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan. This hotel on Florida’s Treasure Coast is right on the beach, with two separate towers flanking a courtyard infinity pool that overlooks the ocean.  Vero is just far enough south that the water stops looking like the dark blue Atlantic and starts to look like the tropical turquoise water of South Florida.

The rooms are spacious and well laid out, and there is an on-site restaurant and bar indoors, as well as poolside bar, dining and fire pit.  Vero is a sleepy little resort town, with a quaint shopping area open during the day and scattered restaurants open at night.  One spot you should not miss is getting orange ice cream at Countryside Citrus, located right on Ocean Drive. We spent most of our time playing in the pool or on the beach, so auntie Jen got lots of time to hang with my little nugget.

Max loved having battles with the waves, shoveling (throwing to be honest) the sand with his beach toys, and went crazy swimming in the pool.  He just started swimming lessons again last week, and already he is diving in the pool, floating, and swimming under water with ease.  We were both pooped out at the end of the week and slept like rocks on Sunday night.

Luckily I found this one piece bathing suit that is the perfect combination of modest and sassy, and best of all, stays in place when you are playing in the waves.   It’s under $60 and super comfortable.  I’m 5’8″, and wear either a small or medium in swimwear, so I opted for the medium to make sure torso was long enough.

    1. I’m usually covered in sunscreen so it doesn’t make much of an impact for me, but I’ll swap it for a different suit after a day or two so any lines are really noticeable 🙂 💛
