We took a quick trip to Miami last month to visit my husbands dad and his girlfriend, who were in town for some meetings. I never thought I would be bringing a toddler to South Beach, but it went surprisingly well!
We stayed at the Hyatt Centric, right across the street from a walkway to the beach. Joe & The Juice is in the base of the hotel, which has a super cool vibe and delicious healthy treats.
The hotel had a super convenient pool for Max after a day at the beach. I know you aren’t supposed to, but we always go for a dip to help get the rest of the sand off of him before we head to the room.

Our days were spent playing at the beach. I like to snack through the morning, power through lunch and take a long late afternoon nap so Max is rested up for dinner.
Our first night we ate at Upland with amazing California inspired cuisine, and took a long walk back to the hotel.

On the way back I just had to stop at The Villa Casa Casuarina, which was Gianni Versace’s house that has since been converted to a boutique hotel and restaurant. The architecture and mosaics were out of this world.

The paved walkway and boardwalk along South Beach is one of my favorite places to go running in the morning. I used that time to go on a little extra photo safari of some of my favorite hotels, but was disappointed to see the Raleigh was closed for construction. (I can’t wait to see what it looks like once it’s done though!)
After a second day at the beach, Max and I both had our first dinner at Joe’s Stonecrab. It is an old school steak and seafood restaurant that specializes in its famous crab claws. They don’t take reservations so plan to get there early. Max was just happy with desert!
